CETEM will be present at Basque Ecodesign Meeting (BEM 2020), at the Palacio Euskalduna in Bilbao from 26th to 28th February. This innovative conference will debate and reflect on the circular economy and ecodesign for indutry in Europe.

Various sectors of activity will gather at the Palacio Euskalduna in Bilbao between 26 and 28 February to debate and reflect on the circular economy and ecodesign in a new edition of the Basque Ecodesign Meeting (BEM 2020), one of the most important meetings on ecodesign in Europe. Concretely, our partner CETEM will attend this exceptional event which will gather specialists in industrial product design from all over Europe to analyse the implications that the transition towards a circular economic model will have for industry in Europe and to debate the business opportunities and improvements in business competitiveness that this model offers. On the first day, Wednesday 26, BEM 2020 will analyse how leading companies and institutions in the sector are preparing for the new economy, with the main trends and challenges in the framework of the circular economy. One of the main speakers at the BEM will be Marc Vidal, an economic analyst and consultant in technological transformation and strategy, with a broad background in the dissemination of information on the digital age and industry 4.0. Vidal, who defends technology and robots as allies and tools at the service of people, will be one of the speakers on the first day. The second session, on 27th, will take a look at two decades of eco-design ‘made in Euskadi’ through 50 case studies of companies located in the territory, many of them SMEs. The last session, on Friday 28th February, will be exclusively aimed at the new generations, under the slogan ‘The power of young people – Leaders in a new circular economy’. It will be attended by 200 students from universities and vocational training. To sum up, during the event aimed at business and industry, topics such as servizitation, environmental product design, programmed and perceived obsolescence, eco-design, eco-innovation, circular economy, green industry 4.0, life cycle analysis, environmental product declaration, remanufacturing, product service systems will be addressed, and INSIGHT Consortium will try to reach different stakeholders with interesting in finding synergies and try to implement Industrial Symbiosis as well as the most updated progress in this topic.
